Market Entry & Sales

Brazil has 65% of the South American buying power. If you do not yet sell in South America, then Brazil may just be the best market to start. Minas Gerais is an excellent location to enter this growing market.

Avoid the all-too-common mistake of treating Brazil as just another sales territory.  Selling in Brazil requires its own plan, its own strategy - you will have to devote specialized attention to Brazil.

Below are some comments about how to set up your sales effort in Brazil, as well as a some information of the services that we provide.  We will also gladly answer any questions and comments that you may have, you are welcome to e-mail or to call us at any time.

If you want to sell directly to business buyers, your best sales method will depend on the technical complexity of your product, the lead time required to close a sale, your competition, and (especially) how important Brazil is for you.

Initially it may be feasible to have your U.S. or European-based personnel take care of Brazilian accounts, but you should have a plan to gradually develop a local sales and support force as sales volume and potential warrant it.

One scenario that you should evaluate immediately (before you begin to sell in Brazil) is using a local partner as a part of your sales effort. This partner may be a distributor or a representative, and it may even be a local manufacturer whose line is complementary to yours. Long term success in Brazil will invariably involve significant contribution by local personnel, so you might as well take the initiative and try to locate partners with synergy.

In some cases you will need to develop a local sales effort. Depending on your product it may be possible to sell and ship directly from the U.S. or Europe, but usually it is not worth the aggravation of charge backs, tech support, and high shipping costs.
